  • Who better to talk about the issue than the buildings themselves? Animated building characters represented two extremes of the performance scale, interacting with each other in ways that educated and entertained viewers.

  • Web banner: Animated web banner debunked popular myths and pushed people directly to the online game.

  • Viral video: Uploaded to YouTube, this featured the building characters and ended with a call to action to play, along with the game url.

  • Retrofits game: Three increasingly challenging levels combined a fast-paced “twitch” game with educational trivia questions. A real-time leaderboard encouraged friendly competition.
